Watching the Titanic again and again will make one think that being on a luxury boat is something that not many people will have a chance to experience. It’s not just the cost that makes it a forbidding experience for the majority of the people but also the lifestyle of those on board. Everyone seemed to be dressed up in such a formal way as if they had to attend a wedding or an interview!

What is wrong though, is that in most of those films the boats were not actually cruise boats. All those on board were people who would like to reach America, some of them for leisure and some others for immigration purposes. Besides, it was the time that cruises were totally unknown and the boat was the main means of long distance transportation. The modern equivalent of the titanic would be a super luxurious airplane where people would fly from London to Sydney nonstop.

The reason why I make all those arguments is because I want to stress that the vast majority of people have a completely wrong idea about the kind of people that would take up a cruise. There are so many different types of cruises available ranging from very expensive to affordable ones.

Cunard cruises being from around £300 for a 2 day journey from North Germany to Portsmouth on Queen Elizabeth. A 2 day trip to Paris would cost pretty much the same. Oceania cruises and Silversea cruises in a similar manner offer affordable cruises for those on lower incomes.

It is a fact that most of the people travelling on a luxury boat are middle-aged and wealthy but this is not always the case. But all those who are really curious to find out how a cruise is like they would still stand a chance. The vast majority of people who have actually tried it claim that it was one of the bets experiences ever!
