However the London committee have not explicitly defined when each of the individual events will go on sale. The best advice is to register on the Games website for for SMS and mail notifications.
When they do eventually open, about 8 million seats will go on sale for the Olympics, with another two million tickets for the Paralympic Games. There is no formal last date to obtain your tickets for the main competitions. If they are not sold out beforehand, seats will still be available until the opening of the each events. Past experience though, you can be sure that the top competitions in the Olympic arena, tickets will be in high demand and are sure to sell out quickly.
