VIP passes for all Patricks as the Guinness Storehouse celebrates St Patrick’s Day
It will be a very special St Patrick’s Day at the Guinness Storehouse this year as the top attraction celebrates 10 years since it first opened its doors to the public with a unique promotion. All those who share the name of Ireland’s renowned Patron Saint - or a variation of it - will be offered a ‘Very Important Patricks’ pass to get into the March 17th 2010 St Patrick’s Day festivities for free.
Official identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, must be presented by any Patricks going along on the day so that they can enjoy the full range of attractions on offer at no charge. To get them in the mood for the treats ahead, visitors arriving at the Guinness Storehouse will be greeted by fire jugglers and street performers. The Guinness characters Arthur & Olivia will then be on hand inside to welcome new arrivals as the celebrations begin in earnest.
Top U2 tunes will be performed by ‘Rattle and Hum’ on the day. Meanwhile, Irish acts Jimmy Smyth, Sliotar and The Gravel Walk will also take to the stage at various points through out the day. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Dublin in Gravity Bar, as they enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness and listen to the funky tunes being played by DJs Peter Cosgrove and Peter McKenna. And for something a little more traditional, there will be an interactive Céilí Mór taking place during the day.
In addition to the St Patrick’s Day live music acts, visitors can also learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness like a true connoisseur and have the chance to take home a hand drawn caricature of themselves enjoying their perfect pint! Added to this, there will complimentary tastings of two Guinness variants – Foreign Extra Stout and Extra Stout. A selection of delicious Guinness inspired cuisine, meanwhile, will be available in the Brewery Bar Restaurant. With so much on offer, Patricks and non Patricks alike are guaranteed to be entertained this St Patrick’s Day at the Guinness Storehouse.
