Many people could never really afford to go on Safari holidays, so the Tour Operators have started to bring down prices, and now they have become very competitive. Nowadays people have to try and work out where they can go to experience these holidays. If you have ever spoken about a Safari location, it is more than likely you would have mentioned somewhere in Kenya or Tanzania, the two most famous. Although Tanzania and Kenya are famous for there safari locations, the more specific locations for these great safaris are the Masai Mara in Kenya west of Nairobi and the Serengeti in Tanzania.

In Kenya the Maasai Mara is known to the world to be the finest national park in Africa. If you like Big Cats, then this is probably the best location in the world to see them in the wild, the Lions that is. The Kenyan Big Cat Safari has proved to be one of the most popular safaris in the world. Some of these animals are very elusive so getting the chance to see them in the wild is a truly amazing chance. There is also a yearly event that takes place in Kenya, called the Circular Migration. If tourists can time their Kenya holidays just right, then they can get the chance to see almost 2 million herbivores travel through the Masai Mara and into the Serengeti. If you like to take lots of pictures then this is definitely the place for you camera trigger happy people, every picture provides you with something to remember.

The Serengeti is much larger than the Masai Mara National Park, but is not as well known as the Masai Mara for its safari holidays. The Serengeti also has a large amount of woodland, making the animals that survive here a lot more diverse. This is one of the reasons that the Serengeti is so famous, and along with the Masai Mara it also has the Circular Migration that passes through. Many holidays or Safaris in the Serengeti can be twinned with holidays to Zanzibar as well, also called the spice island. In Tanzania, you will be most likely to see the wondrous elephant, this majestic creature makes a great photo, but don’t get too close!

If you haven’t decided on one of these, personally I recommend Kenya holidays, although Tanzania holidays are great, the Maasai Mara has a lot to offer any tourist. Christmas Holidays are becoming increasingly popular, especially on Safari holidays.
