One of the fun things about winter is that you get to buzz down the slopes at your chosen ski field at some point. Skiing is great fun and it is also wonderful exercise building up strong thighs and stomach muscles. Before you get to the ski chalet though, there are some things that you need to do to get ready for your vacation.

One of the first things to do is to start getting your body in shape. Your thigh muscles take a bit of a beating on the piste, so it is best to get them conditioned beforehand. Do lunges and squats to build up your strength and you will be able to reduce the degree to which you suffer sore muscles and you can also reduce the chance of injury.

A great little item to pack into your luggage for after you have been on the mountain all day is a homedics massager. This can soothe sore muscles and get them ready for the next day’s skiing adventure. It may also help to dissipate some of the lactic acid build up that can also lead to sore muscles.

Well before you leave for your vacation you should also check that all your alpine skiing equipment is in good shape. Check this out well in advance so that you have time to get replacement equipment if you need it. Old or broken parts of the ski could lead to injuries. Also getting things replaced or fixed on the mountain usually costs a whole lot more than it does elsewhere because it is a captive market and might take time away from your skiing.

The thrill of whooshing around the ski fields is high up there, but a ski trip is also an excuse to indulge in a bit of winter bunny fashion fun. Before going on your break you should update your ski wear and recycle some of your older pieces, but mix and match it with new stuff too.

To check out what is currently in in ski fashion, you should head down to your local ski shops and get online to see what is available. One of the good things about the ski fields is that the fashion tends to be more out there and you can get away with just about any look that you want to pull off. Off the slopes back at the lodge, tights and a brown boot with layered tops and sweaters is the current look.

With just a little preparation you can be sure you will have the best ski trip ever - no injuries, all organized and looking hot.
