The globe-trotters of modern world have quite a few travel destinations to choose from. There are those well known European destinations which have cold climate round the year to the hot Egypt which offers its’ charm of old world pyramids. Global Tourists who have already been to such celebrated destinations are always in the lookout of new and exciting place to spend some quality vacation time to get away from the daily rut, which their busy lives offer.

Amidst all the very well known tourist destinations over the world, there is a popular travel destination located in the serene climate of Eastern Europe which is famously known as Cyprus. Not so big in size and equally less in terms of population (3,572 square miles & 855 thousand respectively), Cyprus is abundantly bestowed with the rare combination of scenic beauty and the old world charm. It has the beautiful beaches straddled with the historic Greek mountains neatly put together in an awesome landscaping. This beautiful country can be reached via all the possible modes of travel e.g. Air, Water and land. Major three airports in Cyprus are quite close to the city-centers and are known as Larnaca (happens to be main airport!), Pafos and Ercan while the major passenger ports being Heraklion, Rhodes, Haifa and Port Said. The only word of advice here would be to ensure that tourist take the Airways in winters especially as the waterways has limited services during winters. Enough care should be taken to ensure that the ports chosen for entry into Cyprus are not declared illegal.

Nicosia has been in problems more so because it segmented by the Green Line that separates the Southern from the northern portion. One traveler can see numerous buildings here that belong to the 12th century era. There are many museums dedicated to the culture and Venetian City Walls which the tourists are bound to get mesmerized with.

The Troodos Mountain Ranges are a natural splendor. There are resorts present over there which offer maximum comfort and you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. One of the more famous – Buyuk Hammam is a Turkish bath present in Nicosia, is simply marvelous for a complete relaxation.

Limmassol is yet another town that is very popular with the wine lovers. Here you can find many festivals captivating the city for the entire year. The September Wine Festival is perhaps the best known. In case you want to shop for the handicrafts, you can go to the Folk Aet Museum. Another place where you can visit is housed the 14th century castle – Cyprus Medieval Museum. The village of Amanthus has numerous excavation sites and they can quite enthralling to watch.     

One of the important things as a tourist you should know is that the people here respect their religion a lot. So as a visitor you should also respect their orthodox Greek and Muslim customs. The local culture is an amalgamation of the Turkish and Greek cultures. One can even see some of dash of the British culture also. The local population wears casual outfits and you have to limit wearing beachwear to the beaches only. Best season to visit Cyprus is September.
